New Checkoff Website Helps Producers Share Beef Industry News
AUSTIN, TX – The producer-led Texas Beef Checkoff (TBC) is proud to announce the launching of a fully-responsive online resource. The new website texasbeefcheckoff.com allows producers, media and beef industry stakeholders full access to the most up-to-date checkoff information and tools.
“We are excited to have a place for both producers and trade media to connect online,” Misty Martin, Ag Communications Manager at TBC said. “The new website highlights the research and education efforts checkoff dollars are funding, as well as quantifies beef promotion efforts for our hard-working ranchers. It’s our responsibility to communicate back to the 149,000 beef producers in Texas paying into the program. The website is a tool to make that information more accessible for everyone.”
TBC is maximizing outreach through a joint effort between the consumer-facing website txbeef.org and the new producer-focused site. Consumers still have access to all of the great beef recipes and nutritional information, while producers can now find compliance resources like online remittance forms and collection forms organized under one page.
“Our ranchers spend a lot of their time out in the field with their cattle. It’s not always easy to sit down in front of a computer,” Dave Edmiston, McCulloch County cattleman and TBC board member said. “By using the new website, producers can easily pull up the information they need on their cell phones while they’re out in the pasture. It’s really interactive and user-friendly. ”
The page also acts as a resource for media and beef industry stakeholders. Interested parties can access a full events calendar, press releases, videos, and even sign up for a newsletter. The checkoff-funded outreach effort aims to equip Texas beef producers with information on both the state and national Beef Checkoff Programs.
